Blue Mountains Gateball Competition

30 gateball players from 7 croquet clubs ranging from Nowra, The Hunter Valley and Canberra braved the cold damp conditions of the Blackheath lawns to contest the inaugural Blue Mountains gateball competition last weekend.

A mixed team composed of Blue Mountains and Canberra players carried off the trophy in a closely fought contest.

Local member, Rosa Sage, joined players for lunch on Saturday. Club President, Jim Mills, was able to show her the devastation  caused caused by the recent strong winds.

Congratulations to the Blue Mountains Croquet Club for organising such a great competition.

The club also managed to get media coverage both before and after the event: Mountains Host Australian Champions and Weather Fails to Dampen Spirits at Inaugural Gateball Games.
