Queensland Club Championship
2011 Final Report The final team’s Gateball tournament has been played at Caloundra, which means that the Suzuki Cup Competition table is now finalised for 2011. It has been a very close competition all year, with different teams getting the lead during the year. With Southport having a small lead going into the last tournament, it meant that the last tournament would decide the winner of the Suzuki Cup. Nine teams participated in the tournament with East Brisbane being the winner of the Caloundra Shield, by winning all 8 games. This meant that East Brisbane went to the top of the competition table with 68.75%, and became the winner of the Suzuki Cup, closely followed by Southport with 63.33%. [See competition table].At the conclusion of the tournament the Suzuki Cup was presented to the East Brisbane Team. It has been another great year for the Cup competition and I thank all players for their cooperation and playing it in the Great Spirit that is Gateball. Herman Bekker, Manager.
