About the championship
Held every two years since 1999, the Australian Gateball Championship is the premier gateball tournament in Australia. This year entries have been received from 170 players in 26 teams from five countries, including China, Japan, India and Nepal. The Australian teams come from the length of the east coast, 20 teams from Rockhampton to Melbourne.
Competition structure
The championship will be played in one or more blocks followed by a finals series. The draw was conducted on 26 August and can be viewed here.
Venue
The 2011 Australian Gateball Championship will be played at the Newcastle National Park Croquet Club. The club is located in the heart of Newcastle, a picturesque sea-side city, just two hours north of Sydney. For more information about Newcastle check out www.visitnewcastle.com.au/.
